Vendor FAQs

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE A VENDOR WITH ITEMS ON CONSIGNMENT AT LOCAL FAIR?

Consignment is an arrangement in which an artist’s or artisan’s work is left in the possession of Local Fair in Jim Thorpe to sell. The consignor receives a percentage of the revenue from the sale in the form of a commission.

HOW DOES CONSIGNMENT WORK?

If we like what you have, we’ll enter into a consignment agreement for 90 days. We keep a percentage of each sale and pay out the rest at the beginning of each month.

Items that do not sell within the consignment period must be reduced in price significantly or removed from our shop within 7 business days. You can collect your items from our shop, or we will arrange shipment. If you wish us to send the items back to you, we will take the postage out of your artist revenue.

I’M AN ARTIST OR ARTISAN, HOW DO I APPLY TO SELL MY WORK IN YOUR STORE?

We’re always looking for artists and artisans to be featured in our shop. We accept applications on a rolling basis; please complete this form if you are interested.

To apply, artists and artisans must be local to the Lehigh Valley or the Poconos (will consider central PA) and must have a viewable portfolio of some sort (social media counts). We’re also looking for creators to bring something new and exciting to our space and may sometimes deny applicants because their style is too similar to one of our current vendors; this doesn’t mean you can’t apply again in the future!

Overall product presentation is taken into consideration at the time of application, which may include packaging, branding, and overall style.

I HAVE ITEMS/ARTWORK THAT I WANT TO CONSIGN, CAN I BRING THEM IN?

Since our space is limited, we ask potential vendors to refrain from bringing items in without first sending us detailed info and pictures of the item(s). Please complete this form and let us know what items you’d like to feature at Local Fair. Please wait for a response before bringing in any items. We cannot guarantee walk-in consignment and do NOT hold items for evaluation.
